Hello, World
The first post on this blog: why it exists, what it will be about, and how it was built.
Welcome to my corner of the internet. This is the first post on a blog that has been on my to-do list for far too long.
Why a blog?
Mostly to think in public. Writing forces clarity in a way that talking never does, and having a permanent URL for my own thoughts beats scattering them across platforms I don’t control.
Expect posts about:
- Software I build and the mistakes I make while building it
- Things I learned the hard way, so you don’t have to
- Occasional opinions, clearly marked as such
How this site works
The site is built with Astro, renders to plain HTML, and loads no JavaScript beyond a tiny snippet for the dark mode toggle. Posts are Markdown files in the repository — no CMS, no database, no lock-in.
The best tool is the one that stays out of the way.
If that sounds like your kind of thing, the RSS feed is in the footer.
